After a few years of research we
went out to USA in 1998 to buy a stallion and a mare to add to our
programme. We saw this lovely, 15.1hh bay mare, who'd had a fair
amount of riding, had played polo and been used to shoot coyotes off of.
I rode her and Graham rode her - she was perfect!
Well mannered, nicely bred, very gentle and smooth to ride.
Add her to our 'shipping' list then!
She has had 5 foals with Muffin to date, a palomino
filly, a bay colt, a buckskin filly, a bay colt, a buckskin filly this
year. All have been superb, gentle, athletic and easy going.
Her second foal, bay colt, now a 5 year old stallion with Debbie
Roberts, has had a reputation in the village. People whispering
"he's too quiet"!! Deb takes him out on the beach and he is the
perfect gentleman riding out in mixed company and people having a peep
to confirm that he's a stallion. "Yep....fuzzy plums"
Deb has a yearling and two year old fillies him out of a
lovely mare we imported for her 3 years ago. Email her on
debbiehorse@aol.com if you are
interested.
She has consistently produced top quality foals year
after year.
The latest filly, Tia, has been out on the show
circuit last season along with Deb and Clare's other 2 champion horses,
Bailey and Buffy, from Evans Quarter Horses of course!
Tia won her yearling class in an all American breeds
show this summer and then won championship of the whole show! Youngest
in the show and with over 50 entries, and her first time out ever!
What an amazing filly she is.
Look out for her this year as a 2 year
old. Pics of her on Sold Horses in Action page.
The last couple of months, as she wasn't
in foal last year and had had about 5 years off riding
and then about the same before that off, we decided to
take her to our western club at Tregoyd Mountain Riders.
Lunged her for about 30 seconds to see where she was at
then I rode her. I had completely forgotten how superb
she is.
Ended up using her for lessons the last
few times and she has the smoothest paces of any horse
ever. Everyone agreed and it's a job to get them on
Heidi once they've had a go on Chianti. A sweet
and gentle mare that a 12 year old girl rode, having her
first taste of western and she was soon loping around
the arena like she'd been ridden every day for years.
An amazing mare who has consistently
produced top quality foals with Muffin.
Chianti has the most gorgeous 2010
buckskin filly this year who is again, top quality.
She has not been
re-bred this year as we want to ride her over the next
year and then breed her next year to ZZ Hoss for 2012.
