Northern Chianti

Chianti is due to foal June 2008

After a year or so of research we went out to USA in 1998 to buy a stallion and a mare to add to our programme.  We saw this lovely, 15.1hh bay mare, who'd had a fair amount of riding, had played polo and been used to shoot coyotes off of.

I rode her and Graham rode her - she was perfect!  Well mannered, nicely bred, very gentle and smooth to ride.

She has had 4 foals with Muffin to date, a palomino filly, a bay colt, a buckskin filly and a bay colt last year.  All have been superb, gentle, athletic and easy going.  Her second foal, bay colt, now a 5 year old stallion with Debbie Roberts, has had a reputation in the village.  People whispering "he's too quiet"!!  Deb takes him out on the beach and he is the perfect gentleman riding out in mixed company and people having a peep to confirm that he's a stallion.  "Yep....fuzzy plums"
