Dancin Lil Haida "Pink" recently. Nice drop of snow, Holly on the left and Chianti on the right, all snug in their rugs. Beverley is going to be really cross with me for this first bit....ah well. Good job we're good friends! Bev and her daughter Megan visiting the mares and foals with Satin being sat on. Muffin is in the background and the buckskin filly is Bev and Megan's filly of 2006...the sorrel colt is Mel's foal by Banjo Whiz who is now with Spot.
All our mares and both stallions apart from Woodstock Satin and Southeau Mynx were imported by us, after visiting USA, enabling us to check horses for ourselves. We have spent nearly 20 years checking out bloodlines, talking to breeders and trainers both in Europe and in the USA and decided the best thing to do was go out to USA to source the kind of mares and stallions we needed to fit our programme. With the now higher import costs (around £4,000 UK just to get them home!) and exchange rates less than favourable, we can offer top quality foals, without the expense of going out to USA - the great bloodlines are right here! Cutting/reining/cowhorse pedigrees are what quarter horses are all about so that's the way we went. They are chosen for their proven performance bloodlines, temperament, soundness in body and in their head! and sometimes a nice colour. We do not breed for colour - Muffin was one of two stallions kept entire that year out of about 30 foals, and he just happened to be buckskin, along with a pedigree packed with hall of fame, top horses - but we do get lots of buckskins, duns, the occasional grulla and palominos to add to their superb sound, performance bloodlines and temperaments all with completely correct, straight movement, tremendous feet and legs and bone.
