After a long hard look in the UK we went back to USA the
end of 2000, having not found what we wanted in the UK.
Docs Stony Bars was in Oklahoma and
after trying her out and loving her, we bought her. We
also saw Susie the Bartender as a 2 year old while we
were there and planned to ship her over the following
year after being bred to War Chief's Pride.
Stony is a finished cutting and
roping horse, having spent a few years working all day
on ranches in Oklahoma. A fun horse with a heart
of gold and a cheeky sense of humour.
We rode her for a few months before
she injured her pastern (cutting it badly) in the field.
She was unsound to ride for a few months so we bred her
to Muffin and they produced a carbon copy of herself in
the form of Cookie a beautiful colt who sadly later, as
a 3 year old and in his new home doing extremely well,
was hit by a taxi and fatally injured.
Stony's time off riding worked and
she was sound again and has ridden out for a few years
with various friends riding her as I was riding Heidi.
She is foundation bred and
registered.
She is scanned in foal to ZZ Hoss
after being taken to Touchwood Stud this summer. She
caught on her first breeding to him AI having missed a
couple of years with natural cover to Muffin.
What an exciting foal this is going
to be!
This foal, if a colt, is booked.
